Welcome to Scotford and Teasdale specialists in refrigeration equipment.
For the sales, installation, repair and maintenance of refrigeration equipment such as refrigerated cabinets, refrigerators, freezers and coldrooms.
How it all Started ……….
In 1948, 2 friends who had worked together as electricians with Callis Sons and May in Reading, decided to start their own refrigeration business. Their names were Frank Scotford and Jack Teasdale. They formed a partnership called Scotford and Teasdale, which was to build a steady business and a strong reputation in the London/Oxfordshire/Berkshire area. During the 1950s, Jack Teasdale struck a deal to sell refrigeration equipment made by a Malmo company, Swedish Royal. The business was particularly successful during these years: selling ‘white goods’ was at this time rather profitable, and the equipment S&T sold had a very high reputation for its reliability.

Food shops were increasingly demanding refrigerated cabinets, freezers and cold-rooms for food storage, and S&T were big players in the area, supplying many retail outlets. S&T displays dominated many local food equipment exhibitions in the 1950s and 1960s. During 1958, a technician called Marcus Aurelius joined S&T, following an apprenticeship with Southern Electricity and his National Service. Marcus was to become a key player in S&T’s future.

When Frank Scotford retired in 1959, his share of the business was bought by Jack Teasdale, and when Jack retired in 1970, the business was bought by 3 of his key employees, including Marcus. By this time, selling and maintaining air-conditioning equipment had become a key part of their trading, though refrigeration remained the core business. Over the next 17 years, 2 of the 1970 purchasers of the business left, and by 1987 only Marcus Aurelius, who had joined as a technician in 1959, remained. Marcus ran the business from premises at Stoke Row.
Meanwhile, Trevor Davison had founded BCAS (British Compressed Air Services) in 1987, and under his guidance BCAS had developed into a successful business. It too moved to Stoke Row, in fact to the same industrial estate as S&T. Trevor and Marcus, and their respective workers, developed strong friendships. When the time came for Marcus to retire in 2004, Trevor and Marcus agreed to merge the companies, retaining the staff, customers and reputations of both businesses.
Over the next 2 years, several other businesses incorporating Coldline Services who were also working in close association with Trevor became part of his core operation, and Trevor saw the opportunity that formally joining forces with them would bring to his operation and valued client base. Thus in January 2007 the Thames Facilities Group was established, with Trevor Davison as Managing Director.
